The project answers to the generic title of industrial building without a definite use and tries to solve the analysis of volumes and spaces of a building that will have to give an answer later to the needs of co-existance generated by the population of the different urban development sectors.
The formal character of the construction reveals the idea of a city wall in relation to the exterior environment and that of an interior court as area of relations. The building is organized as a rectangular prism with a great court internally that lodges a sheet of water of notable dimensions. The general dimensions of the building are the following: rectangular Floor, length of its sides: 135 for 120 meters. Interior court, length of its sides: 35 for 120 meters. Interior court, length of its sides: 95 for 80 meters. Sheet of water: 55 for 40 meters.
The base design tries to reveal the idea of construction of a building which geometric simplicity allows it to be defined as an industrial building. This simplicity is deceptive because the project as it appears here involves a high level of responsibility. It answers to the formal concept of a rectangular floor that is closed to the exterior environment, giving place to the great interior court as the element that organizes the relation with each of the fragmented parts. Thus, this rectangular prism that shapes the volume of the building is emptied with a great interior court where the presence of the sheet of water acquires a fundamental importance. Thehere are entrances to the court from three of four sides of the rectangle. In the exterior of the building there is a zone of parkings and landscaped garden areas that wrap it perimetralmente, foreseeing service access in one of the sides.
Formally the building answers to a city wall design in relation to the exterior environment. Vertical hollows perforate the external wall. The entrances to the interior court are in big porticoes. The vegetation will be the element that will support the structural pace of the construction, will fragment the wall façade surfaces and will announce the goodness of the interior court.
It corresponds to commercial and tertiary uses as a generic use, and it includes all the commercial uses, bars, restaurants, shops, touristic lodgings, offices, educational and welfare needs, and all those services that the community needs.
